Steveston Buddhist Temple

Steveston Buddhist Temple, the oldest in the Lower Mainland, was originally built in 1928 on 1st Ave. The current temple, established in 1963, remains a vital part of Steveston’s cultural community.
Come and learn more about the Buddhist heritage with a tour and history lesson of the Japanese Canadian experience in Steveston. We will also provide cultural activities throughout the day.
Saturday June 7
11AM – Japanese pastry making demonstration (30 mins)
1:30PM – Buddhist flower arrangement demonstration (30 mins)
2:30PM – Intro to Buddhism talk (30 mins)
Tours every half hour
Sunday June 8
10:30AM – Sunday morning service
1PM – Intro to Seiza meditation (30 mins)
2:30PM – Intro to Buddhism talk (30 mins)
Temple tours every half hour from 1PM to 3PM
